India Inc.’s Global Dialogue Series, in association with the Nehru Centre, was launched on 27 February. Our distinguished guest speaker for the evening was Mr Ashok Malik, Policy Advisor to India’s External Affairs Minister and Former Press Secretary to the President of India.
In an intimate discussion, under the Chatham House Rule, Ashok Malik tackled the issue of India’s image on the global stage, fielding questions relating to:
The discussion was preceded by a special meeting between Ashok Malik and India Inc.’s India Strategy Group (ISG) members.
ISG Founders Circle members are invited to attend a private briefing preceding the dinner. This will relate to Indian economic and foreign policy. Members will have the opportunity to express their views and make interventions.
The dinner from 7.15pm will see Mr Malik take to a stage with a moderator who will begin the discussion. Questions will then be taken from an audience of 40 specially invited guests. This will take place over a four-course dinner.
In 2019, India Inc. established the India Strategy Group (ISG), a policy platform bringing together leading figures from the world of business, policy, media and the arts, to engage on issues relating to India and its globalisation.
It offers a unique, invite-only forum for members and special guests to engage ‘with confidence and in confidence’ with policy and opinion formers at the very highest levels from India, the UK, and globally.
Ashok Malik is Policy Advisor in the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. In this capacity, he works closely with the External Affairs Minister, the Foreign Secretary and the leadership of the MEA.
Prior to his current role, from August 2017 to July 2019, Malik was Press Secretary to the President of India. The first person from outside the civil services to be appointed to the post, he was part of the President’s core group of political advisors and functioned as his principal speech-writer and spokesperson.
A new Global Dialogue Series to explore subjects that reflect India”s international outlook and impact the India-UK relationship has been launched in London as part of a worldwide effort. Read more
