UK-India Awards
The Annual UK-India Awards is an invitation-only, black-tie dinner and glittering awards ceremony to celebrate the winning partnership between the UK and India.
The 2nd UK-India Awards 2018 were held in Mayfair London. The Awards were hosted by Bollywood Superstar Vivek Oberoi, with special address from Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan & Foreign Minister Rt Hon. Mark Fields MP. Bringing together over 400 senior leaders from the world of business, politics, diplomacy, media, arts & culture, the Awards acknowledged and celebrated individuals and organisations who made a significant contribution to strengthening the bilateral relationship.

Lord Marland is Chairman of the Commonwealth & Enterprise Council (CWEIC) and Enterprise and Investment Company Ltd. He retired as the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy and Chairman of the Business Ambassador Network in 2014. He was Minister for the Department of Energy and Climate Change from 2010 to 2012 and subsequently for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills..
Rt Hon Priti Patel MP is the Conservative Party Member of Parliament for Witham since May 2010. In July 2014, she was appointed Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury. From the 2015 General Election until July 2016, she served as Minister for Employment at the Department for Work and Pensions and from July 2016 until November 2017, as Secretary of State for International Development in the UK Cabinet.
Barry Gardiner is the Labour Party Member of Parliament for Brent North and currently serves as Secretary of State for International Trade in the UK’s Shadow Cabinet. His 20 years in Parliament have seen him hold ministerial office in three government departments: Northern Ireland, Trade and Industry, and Environment. In 1999, Barry established Labour Friends of India and is its current Chair. Barry has led many trade delegations to India over the years.
Sunil Bharti Mittal is Founder and Chairman of Bharti Enterprises and considered a pioneer of the mobile revolution in India. He is closely associated with spearheading Indian industry’s global trade policy, having served on the Prime Minister of India’s Council on Trade & Industry. Sunil is a recipient of the Padma Bhushan, one of India’s highest civilian honours awarded to individuals for distinguished service to the country.
Barkha Dutt is an author, television journalist and broadcaster. She was part of NDTV’s team for 21 years, during which she hosted award winning shows like We the People and The Buck Stops Here. Barkha has won many national and international awards, including the Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian honour.
Edwina Dunn is co-founder of UK-headquartered Dunnhumby, a pioneering company behind loyalty programmes around the world. She sold the business to Tesco in 2011, by which time it had grown into an organisation of 1,500 people, reaching 350 million customers in 25 countries. Following her retirement, she entered a new innings as CEO of Starcount, a consumer insights company. Edwina is also founder of The Female Lead, a non-profit organisation, and a Trustee of The Science Museum in London.
