Have you always wanted to own an artwork by a Master? Then this is your chance, says the Partition Museum in Amritsar, India.
The museum is hosting its first-ever online art exhibition-cum-fundraiser, showcasing exclusive artworks by renowned Indian artists at affordable prices.
Eminent artists in the rare line-up include Krishen Khanna, Anjolie Ela Menon, Jogen Chowdhury, Jatin Das, Paresh Maity, Arpana Caur, Jayasri Burman and Atul Bhalla along with talented younger artists Viren Tanwar, Manisha Gera Baswani, Seema Kohli, Ayesha Singh, Purvai Rai, Ekta Singha and Divya Singh are participating in this exhibition.
The event will open on August 15, which coincides with Indian Independence Day, and is being held to promote Indian art and raise much-needed funds for the Partition Museum.
“The online art exhibition cum fundraiser is the perfect opportunity for you to get affordable art and support the museum. The sale of artworks will take place from 15 to 17 August. Stay tuned as we share the exhibition’s catalogue with you soon,” the museum said in a statement.
Lady Kishwar Desai, UK-based author and Founder of the Partition Museum in Amritsar, said the event marks a major milestone in the journey of the museum – which has managed to battle through the coronavirus lockdown despite a lack of ticketing revenues as the doors remain shut.
Lady Desai: “We are in the process of expanding our Bengal section and our teams have been going around Punjab recording personal histories as best as possible even during the lockdown. This fundraiser marks another major milestone in our journey.”
