Wipro arm in pact with Rockwell

Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (WIN), a part of Wipro, looks to create automation solutions for industries using Rockwell Automation's products. The company said it has signed a pact with the US-headquartered Rockwell Automation through its arm WIN Automation Solutions to tap the emerging industrial automation market. Pratik Kumar, CEO of WIN, said the company would aim to achieve $100 million in the next five years in industrial automation revenue considering the opportunities. “We are pretty much at the start of our journey for WIN Automation solutions... As a directional number, we think $100 million in the next five years is something which is doable.” Kumar added that “partnering with Rockwell Automation is an important milestone” and “it further strengthens the company's proposition of being a leading systems integrator in industrial automation business”. Dilip Sawhney, MD, India of Rockwell Automation, said this is a “solutions-oriented partnership” and it would help penetrate the Indian market better. He believes that for mature industrial customers it comes down to having an upfront discussion on the project success parameters and a joint approach with WIN's experience would be effective.
