This award will take Adani Green Energy closer to its target of achieving an installed capacity of 25 GW of renewable power by 2025.

Adani Green Energy (AGEL) has bagged the world's largest solar contract worth $6 billion from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to develop 8 GW electricity generation capacity and 2 GW equipment manufacturing facility in the country.

The contract will take the company closer to its target of achieving an installed capacity of 25 GW of renewable power by 2025 and will also create 4,00,000 direct and indirect jobs. It will also displace 900 million tonnes of carbon dioxide over its lifetime.

With this win, the Gautam Adani led company will now have 15 GW capacity under operation, construction or under contract.
